AMSC | ADIONG MEMORIAL STATE COLLEGE HELD ITS 25TH BACCALAUREATE EXERCISES AND 3RD HOODING CEREMONY ON JULY 3, 2024

To end the entire School Academic Year 2023-2024 with a loud bang, positivity and good vibes, AMSC held the 25th Baccalaureate and 3rd Hooding Ceremony last July 3, 2024 at the AMSC Gymnasium, Brgy. Bagoaingud, Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur.

At this moment, the presentation of the awards of the graduands in the school was attended by prominent faculty, staff, administrative officials, deans, directors, and other guests.

The Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Rashida A. Abedin introduced the guest speaker as an honorable man from the beginning because of the achievements he had at a young age. Accordingly, Sir Abdulmalik Abedin Adiong III, as fondly called by his many friends as "Alec" is a mentor of different organizations such as Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Muslim Students Association, and active member of MSU-IIT Philippine Institute of Junior Civil Engineers as well as the Regional Federation of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.

Moreover, he is also a Chairperson of different working groups such as Women and Children Committee, Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Youth and Sports, and Ranao Youth Development Council, all from the Province of Lanao del Sur. She further added that Mr. Alec Adiong III is the President of Panlalawigang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Pangkabataan that makes him eligible to be a Board member.

Furthermore, in terms of education, our guest speaker was a consistent pupil with high honors during his elementary at Aba- Alkhail Computer School, Marawi City. Right after graduation therein, he proceeded his secondary education at Dansalan College Foundation, Inc., Marawi City but due to some unavoidable circumstances during Marawi siege, he transferred to another school at La Salle Academy, Iligan City where he finished his Senior high school. At present, he is currently enrolled at MSU-IIT taking up Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

Aside from that, he is the son of the former Congressman Ansarrudin "Hooky" A. Adiong and Hadja Sittie Raimah A. Adiong, and a scion of Engr. Mamintal "Bombit" A. Adiong Jr. as his uncle, and Engr. Mamintal "Mike" M. Adiong as his grandfather, who are both Civil Engineers by profession and became Governors of the Province of Lanao del Sur. VP Rash Abedin said in a joyous manner that they are being compared to a popular quote " What the tree is, so as it's fruit".

The Guest Speaker emphasized that our lives often test us with different setbacks and obstacles and it is inherent to Us that there are ups and downs and as such, people are overwhelmed, coping with constant change between good and bad times.

Sir Alec said that he knows how it feels to have experienced uncertainties and dilemma as a student who had the aspirations and dreams of becoming a successful professional in the near future. He added that he already faced different tests in life in the past but despite that, he remained strong and was able to overcome such challenges. He also felt of giving up not just once but many counts during his most difficult times.

He reminded the hundreds of AMSC graduands that those struggles are just part of growing up and leading to a more complex and better direction in our lives. "We just have to be stable, firm and resilient for whatever problems that we may have" as he uttered.

He further urged that each setback is an opportunity to adapt life's misfortunes, because such trials come with a purpose and a reward. God' s tests often challenge a person's faith and we have to trust Allah. Furthermore, each failure gives us an opportunity to rise from where we fall. It is common that people stumble and fall, but no matter how long it takes, we have to stand up again and remain steadfast and surpass those things without fears. He called on every graduand to believe in themselves because he knows that they are more capable than enough. "You are the hope and future of our Maranao youth!" as he humbly said.

"We don't fear setbacks here as I am joining your journey, we are here to celebrate your success and I am proud of you, never give up! Congratulations! He added more.

After the awarding and hooding ceremony of all the graduates of Batch Salindaw 2024, it was followed by the singing of the tribute song entitled "Mapa" by SB19 which serenaded the parents and coupled with the giving of red roses.

Unexpectedly, a surprising part of the event took place when the pioneering faculty and staff of Adiong Memorial State College were given recognitions and commemorative tokens as a symbol of their loyalty services who are until this time employed in this institution.

It was in the late afternoon when the Department of Junior and Senior High school (JHS-SHS)' faculty and staff facilitated the "Recognition day" and respectfully honored the various awardees in their different categories, and levels.
